There are two kinds of links associated with e-resources, session links and permalinks. Session links expire within a certain amount of time. They are designed for allowing the user to use the resource, they are not for sharing. Permalinks do not expire and are designed for sharing. EBSCO's new user interface makes sharing easy, and gives you several options for doing so:
Searching in Seeker on the Everything Tab
Click on the three dots near the title:
This will open up a small window where you will find the share icon:
Clicking Share will take you to the a window that gives you the option to Create Link. Clicking on it will reveal the permalink:
Another option is to click on the title:
Find the share icon and click on it:
Then create the link:
Creating chapter Permalinks vary by publisher platforms. EBSCO and ProQuest are our two most common platforms, so let's demonstrate those.
EBSCO
Locate the book using the Publication Finder tab, then click on the link to the book:
When the book opens, you can find the share icon to create the permalink just like before:
You can also open a chapter from the table of contents, then copy the URL from the search bar:
Notice the page number of the chapter corresponds to the page number in the URL.
ProQuest
Locate the book you want, click on the ProQuest link:
Just like with EBSCO, there will be a link to the complete book and a table of contents listing each chapter:
Clicking on the book link will take you to a box where you can copy the permalink:
Clicking on a chapter title takes you to that chapter. Just like with EBSCO, copy the URL from the search bar:
