Atla Scripture Search is a feature in EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) that allows users to search for scholarly articles by book, chapter, and verse. At Seminary of the Southwest, we refer to our EDS as Seeker. Follow the steps below to get started using this helpful tool for preaching, exegesis, and research.
1) From the library's homepage, type in a search term to take you inside Seeker:
2) From the left-side navigation inside Seeker, choose Atla Scripture Search:
3) Click on a plus sign until you get to the level you would like to search (book, chapter, or verse). The books are listed in canonical order.
a) Expand the books to see chapters:
b) Expand the chapters to see verses:
c) At any point, choose the book, chapter, or verse you want by checking the box:
4) Once the box is checked, click the Add to Search button:
5) Your search terms will be filled in. Now click the Search button:
6) You will be presented with results relevant to your search:
