Our TexShare databases will be going through a few changes over the course of the year. The first of these changes are already in place and is quite exciting! We now have access to a number of databases from Gale (55) and ProQuest (15). Both of these are leading providers with quality content. We are very pleased to be able to offer these to assist in your research.

A Closer Look

Begin a search in Seeker as normal. The new databases will be searched with the terms you input. If they are found, you will see the databases in your results:

If you do a search and you want just a certain database to appear in your results, use the Content Provider facet on the left side:

Click Show More to get more options:

Jump over to Publication Finder if you have a particular ebook or journal in mind. You just might find it in one of the new databases!

Austin Faith Dialogue

Austin Faith Dialogue was a television program about interreligious dialogue among the various faiths in the Austin area. This television series aired for twenty years. Many of the topics discussed are still extremely relevant today.

The Harrison Library housed the VHS tapes for many years and added new ones after they aired. When the show ended in 2008, we were asked to be the curators of the series, at which time we decided to digitize them onto archival DVDs for preservation. Now, for the first time, they are being made available online!

Presence: An International Journal of Spiritual Direction

Presence is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes thought-provoking articles on topics of interest to spiritual directors and everyone interested in creating healing, peace, and justice through the ministry and service of spiritual companionship. It is the flagship journal of Spiritual Directors International, a community of peoples of many faiths and nations that have a passion for the contemplative practice of spiritual companionship and guidance.

We are fortunate to have both print and digital access to this fantastic journal. If you are interested in having access to the online version, please let us know. There are a limited number of seats for digital access, so we give MSFs and MHCs on the Spiritual Intergration tract priority. Contact us at library@ssw.edu
